Itinerary

This road-trip, spanning 40,000 km and 18 countries, will begin in Cape Town, South Africa, in December 2009. It will reach the northern border of Sudan by April 2010, and will culminate back in South Africa for the FIFA World Cup in July 2010. Besides visiting dozens of World Heritage sites and the most striking National Parks worldwide, our accessibility to remote areas off the beaten path will ensure that we will capture stories nested in the heart of Africa. UPDATE: Since we began planning in Cape Town many signs pointed to an important itinerary change. Due to the weather patterns in the east versus the west, our initial route (shown below) would have taken us into Mozambique first, in the middle of its rainy season. Parks would have been flooded and closed. So we have opted to begin with the reverse route, going North through Namibia (during its dry and extremely hot season). While the heat has been bordering levels of tolerance it is much better than the rain. Please interpret the information below in reverse order. I will post a new actual itinerary during our next internet connection. Preliminary Itinerary:
